Northern
California Community Builders
is a not-for-profit (501(c)3 pending) corporation with long
roots in the city and County of San Francisco. A collaboration
of experienced professionals in land use, social work, real
estate development and pastoral care, the NCCB seeks to
address critical issue of the city's charitable needs for
community based care.
NCCB supports the rights of those in care to compassionate,
connected communities where vitality and engagement are
paramount.
NCCB develops tools to honor caregivers as community members
by addressing housing and transportation, education and
professional development, financial needs, and family and
community connectivity.
In addition to the development and management of small (6-36
bed) affordable assisted living units, NCCB provides training
of talented caregivers to become Certified Nursing Assistants.
CNA training is overseen by a professional with a MSW and
many years of experience. The organization also develops
educational products.
A flexible, modular, Learning Management System is employed
in delivery of multiple-language course materials for both
senior-level staff and front-line caregivers with a focus
on quality care, assessment and accountability in the following
areas:

Disabilities Act Compliance
- Critical Multi-Language Vocabulary ("heart",
"pills", etc.)
- Critical Medical Vocabulary
- Dementia and Memory Care
- Human Resources Issues and Innovation
- State and Federal Regulations Compliance, preparing
for changes in California State Title 22
Additionally
NCCB facilitates seminars on the above topics, and provides
client-site training and on-site experience.
