NCCB Sponsers a Unique Senior Community

NCCB is sponsoring the development of the long-awaited "Magdalene Arts Community," an arts-focused community for those 62 and older of limited means. Several sites are under consideration in the City of San Francisco.

The Magdalene Arts Community will be a creative, life-enhancing assisted living community that focuses on elders' abilities as they age, de-emphasizing their disabilities. Great emphasis is placed on creating art, appreciating art, hosting visiting artists, and attending artistic events, in and outside the community.

The Magdalene Arts Community will be managed in partnership between ElderPlace of California, and the Apostolic Johannite Church, a progressive communion of Christians practicing in the Gnostic tradition of the early Church. AJC Clergy are nurses, artists, musicians, work in social service ministry, housing, government and private industry. The AJC is an open community whose services are open to all, irrespective of faith tradition or position in life.
